According to reports, 14 cases of robbery have been registered on Sunday night alone in Chennai. Victims filed complaints of unidentified men wearing helmets, threatening them with a knife. Items including phones, handbags and gold jewellery were snatched away.
It is alleged that the thieves were intoxicated on marijuana. The general public reportedly suggested that the sale of marijuana should be banned and police patrol increased in the night to curb robberies.
