Home > News Shots > Sports newsIs Test cricket on the wane? The debate has been going on for a long time.
The emerging T20 leagues around the world are the main reasons for the growth of T20 cricket. Most former cricketers have been talking from time to time about the next phase of development of Test cricket, with former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh now talking about Test matches.
"Test cricket is dying. People like to watch T20 cricket; People like to play T20 cricket. One buys five lakh rupees for playing five-day Test cricket and the other buys 50 lakh for playing T20 cricket. Players who are not part of the national team in international cricket earn a salary of Rs 7-10 crore. ”
"You watch the T20s and watch the 50 overs - it looks like a Test match now. After 20 overs, ‘There are 30 overs to bat! So, of course, T20 takes it all in stride, "said Yuvraj.
Yuvraj Singh also said that young players should be given more opportunities to prove themselves at the highest level. Yuvraj also mentioned that Abhishek Sharma and Shivam Dube are playing like him. Dube has so far played 9 matches for the Chennai Super Kings and scored 279 runs at a strike rate of 160.34. SRH player Abhishek has 331 runs at a strike rate of 132.40.
Yuvraj announced his retirement in June 2019. He played in 40 Tests, 308 ODIs and 58 T20Is for India, scoring 1900, 8701 and 1177 runs respectively. He has also taken 148 wickets internationally. Yuvraj Singh is the only Indian to score 6 sixes in a single over in international cricket. He set this rare record in the opening year of the 2007 T20 World Cup.
