SRH Pacer Umran Malik equaled an elusive IPL record held by great bowler Lasith Malinga!

The 40th league match of the IPL series was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai yesterday. The Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad clashed. Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to field.
Batting first, Hyderabad lost 6 wickets at the end of 20 overs and scored 195 runs. Abhishek Sharma scored 65 and Aiden Markram 56. Batting next, Gujarat won by 199 runs in 20 overs. However, Hyderabad's young fast bowler Umran Malik was awarded the Man of the Match award.
That is because the batsmen of the Gujarat team played better. So the Hyderabad team could not take the wickets. Then Umran Malik bowled brilliantly and took 5 wickets. He bowled 4 overs and conceded 25 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
This equals the record of Sri Lankan legend Malinga in the history of the IPL. Malinga and Siddharth Trivedi are the only bowlers in IPL history to have taken the wicket of 4 players in a single match.
In the last match against Delhi in 2011, Malinga, a member of the Mumbai Indians team, took 4 wickets in a single match. Similarly, Siddharth Trivedi took 4 wickets against Bangalore in 2012. It is noteworthy that 10 years later, Umran Malik has joined the list.
