Home > News Shots > Sports newsA video of Rishabh Pant escaping a run-out in the T20I match against South Africa has surfaced online.
The first T20 match between India and South Africa was played at the Delhi Stadium yesterday. Batting first, India scored 211 for 4 in 20 overs. Ishant Kishan top-scored with 76, Shreyas Iyer with 36 and Hardik Pandya with 31.
Batting next, South Africa won by 212 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 19.3 overs. The highest scorers were Russie van der Dusen (75) and David Miller (64). For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Akshar Patel and Harshal Patel took 1 wicket each.
KL Rahul was named captain for the T20 series. But suddenly he withdrew due to injury and Rishabh Pant took over as captain. In this context Rishabh came to bat after Ishan Kishan was out. Then when Sreyas Iyer hit the ball, Rishabh ran in that ball fast. Then Rishabh unexpectedly fell on South Africa's fast bowler Rabada.
Immediately Tristian Stubbs took the ball and tried to run out. But the ball did not fall on the stumps. Taking advantage of this time, Rishabh quickly entered the crease, allowing him to run out without facing the ball in his first match as captain.
