The 22nd league match of the IPL series was played at the Mumbai ground yesterday. The Jadeja-led Chennai Super Kings clashed with the Du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore. Bangalore won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, CSK scored 216 for 4 in 20 overs. Shivam Dube top-scored with 95 and Robin Uthappa with 88.
Batting next, Bangalore could not cope with CSK's bowling and lost wickets in succession. So at the end of 20 overs he took only 193 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. CSK won by 23 runs.
In the current IPL series, Chennai team has lost 4 out of 5 matches played. This is the first time in the history of the IPL that Chennai have lost the first four matches in a row. This caused great sadness among CSK fans. CSK team has marked its first win in the current IPL series in a match against Bangalore.
The captain of the CSK team has spoken eloquently about this victory in this situation. In it, "First of all, this is the first victory as a captain ever. I would like to dedicate it to my wife and also the team because the first victory is always special. Previous four games, we couldn't cross the line.
But as a team, we came good. As a batting unit, everybody did a good job. Robbie and Shivam batted brilliantly. The bowlers contributed with the ball as well. Our management doesn't put pressure on me, they are relaxed, they always come to me and motivate," said Jadeja.
