Australian player Glenn Maxwell talks about former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli.

The IPL 2022 cricket series is scheduled to start from March 26 in India. For this all the team players are engaged in intensive training. This time 2 new teams have joined - Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. So there is a lot of anticipation amongst the fans.

Maxwell, an Australian cricketer who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore, speaks about former captain Virat Kohli. He said, "He knows he's handing the captaincy over, which I think is potentially a big burden for him. It might have been something that's been weighing him down for a while and now that he's been able to release it, it might be dangerous news for opposition teams."

Virat Kohli has stepped down as captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team during last year's IPL series. The Bangalore team led by him has never won a trophy and he was criticised heavily for this. Virat had been the key player for the Bangalore team despite currently stepping down as captain.

So now, Kohli is expected to put up a good performance in the current IPL season. South African cricketer Faf du Plessis has been appointed as the new captain of the Bangalore team. He was picked by the Bangalore team in the recent IPL mega auction. Du Plessis previously played for CSK.
