Australia declared their first innings at 556 for nine in the second Test. Pakistan were then all out for 148. The Australians then started the second innings and scored just 97 runs, and set a target of 506 for the Pakistan team.

With about 170 overs to spare, the challenging Pakistan team batted well. Pakistan captain Babur Azam was unbeaten by 196 runs. Lastly, the Australian team managed to take only 7 wickets. Despite almost two days of play, the Pakistan team's performance without losing a single wicket had attracted the attention of many cricketers.
