Virender Sehwag issues clarification after 'Vada Pav' tweet sparks outrage amongst Rohit Sharma fans!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe Mumbai Indians, one of the strongest teams in the IPL, have started the ongoing IPL season with defeats.
As in the previous few seasons, the question of whether this will happen, as Mumbai initially lost and then return to winning ways, remains unanswered.
This is because of the strength of the Mumbai team. Mumbai, who have played three matches so far, have lost all the three.
Criticisms
In particular, Kolkata all-rounder Pat Cummins smashed a half-century off 14 balls to seal Mumbai's victory, despite Mumbai's chances of a somewhat win over Kolkata. Similarly, Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma, who spoke after the defeat, was a little disappointed as he did not expect Cummins to play like this.
Mumbai Team Status
The series defeat of the Mumbai team was much criticized by many fans. Similarly, some of the cricket celebrities had also given advice on what changes the Mumbai team should make in the upcoming matches. Mumbai, the 2020 champions, were eliminated from the league in the 2021 IPL.
Subsequently, the series of defeats they have faced this time would have disappointed the Mumbai team players as well. In this case, one of the tweets made by the former Indian cricketer, Virender Sehwag referring to the team was a shock to the Mumbai fans.
Sehwag tweeted about Rohit Sharma?
Praising Cummins, Sehwag used the word "Vada Pav" in his tweet to mock the Mumbai team. Thus, the fans of Mumbai captain Rohit criticised the former cricketer thinking that he referred Rohit Sharma with his "Vada Pav" comment.
Explained by Sehwag
Sehwag later issued a clarification, "The Vada Pav reference is for Mumbai, a city that thrives on Vada Pav. Rohit fans thanda lo, I am a bigger fan of his batting much more than most of you guys."
