The 4th league match of the IPL series was played yesterday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Gujarat Titans, led by Hardik Pandya, and the Lucknow Super Giants, led by KL Rahul, clashed. Gujarat won the toss and elected to bowl.
Batting first, Lucknow scored 158 for 6 in 20 overs. Deepak Hooda top scored with 55 and Aayush Patoni with 54. For Gujarat, Mohammad Sami took 3 wickets, Varun Aaron took 2 wickets and Rashid Khan took 1 wicket. Batting next, Gujarat scored 161 for 5 in 19.4 overs. Gujarat beat Lucknow by 5 wickets.
Lucknow captain KL Rahul was dismissed for the first ball of the match. Mohammad Sami was caught by wicketkeeper Matthew White in the first over of the match. KL Rahul has been appointed captain of the Lucknow Super Giants.
KL Rahul's duck out in the first match he captained the new team came as a shock to the fans. This is the first time in 6 years that it became a golden duck. It is noteworthy that KL Rahul was ducked out in the match against Gujarat Lions in 2016.
