Shane Warne, the legendary spinner, captained the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL from the first season (2008) until 2011. In the final match of the first season of 2008, Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai and won the trophy.
Late Jadeja, Yusuf Pathan
The players who were part of the Rajasthan team at the time, in a documentary about the many moments that took place in the Rajasthan team, are now open-minded. Speaking on the occasion, Kamran Akmal said, "Yusuf Pathan and Ravindra Jadeja were a little late for practice. So, at that time, Warne didn’t say anything. Akmal continued, “So, we were done with practice and we left the stadium. When we were returning, he asked the driver to stop the bus. Then he turned towards the two and said ‘You guys come on foot’.”
Jadeja Achievements
With about 2km to go to their hotel, Yusuf Pathan and Ravindra Jadeja, on the pretext of being late for training, walked. Earlier, in the days following Warne's death, Jadeja scored 175 in a Test match against Sri Lanka.
New Captain
The Rajasthan Royals team tweeted that Warne had once referred to Jadeja as a 'rockstar'. Now, Dhoni, who was the captain of the CSK team, has resigned and Jadeja has been appointed as the new captain of the team.
