Big hopes for India Pakistan's Four-nation cricket tournament in 2023 - Details!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsLahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramis Raja has said he wants to start a four-match ODI series against India, Pakistan, Australia and England.
Ramis Raja, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), said he would discuss the four-nation match with Saurav Ganguly, chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), during a meeting of the Cricket Council of Asia (ACC) (March 19, Dubai).
Earlier, Jai Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), had branded Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Rameez Raja's series of four proposals as "short-term business ventures". However, the BCCI was not interested in the plan put forward by the PCB president. The PCB leader, meanwhile, said he and Ganguly were former players and that cricket was not about politics for them.
"I will speak to Sourav Ganguly when we meet for the ACC meeting in Dubai. We are both former captains and players, for us cricket is not politics, "he said.
He added that although India has not agreed to the four-nation tournament, Pakistan is considering holding a three-nation tournament with Australia and England.
"Even if India does not go with us on this project, we will think about launching an annual three-nation event in Pakistan with Australia and the UK," he said. "I think they (BCCI) will come and see what can be done if they do not come to Pakistan," he said.
Raja also hopes that the Indian national cricket team will travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asian Cup.
