The 15th season of the IPL series is going on in full swing in India. So far 6 matches have been played. Chennai Super Kings will play against Lucknow Super Giants today (31.03.2022).
Former CSK player and England all-rounder Sam Curran has said he is sad not to play in the IPL at this stage. Speaking of which, he said, “I’m gutted not to be there. It’s a frustration watching from home. I wanted to go [into the auction] but I didn’t in the end – which was probably the best decision. Looking back, IPL probably came a little bit too soon.”
He continued, “At the time, I was really frustrated that I didn’t go into the auction, but looking back at how the last couple of months have gone - I haven’t been part of Surrey’s winter for a long time, so it has been nice to be part of it again. I definitely want to go back [to the IPL] at some stage because you learn so much about your T20 game there: it’s a tournament when you live and breathe cricket. You go down for breakfast every day and you’re sitting with superstars, sitting down and chatting about the game.”
Sam Curran has been playing for CSK for the last 2 years. He has excelled in both batting and bowling in many important matches and has been the main reason for the team to win. For the unversed, he was injured during the IPL last season which gradually let him to opt out of T20 World Cup series back then.
As he is currently taking rest due to his injury, he did not attend the ongoing IPL mega auction. After recovering from injury completely, Sam Curran has announced that he will be playing in the IPL next year.
