The 41st league match of the IPL series was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai yesterday. The Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders clashed. Batting first, Kolkata scored 146 for 9 in 20 overs. Nitish Rana top-scored with 57 and captain Shreyas Iyer with 42. For Delhi, Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets, Mustafizur 3 wickets and Chetan Sakariya and Akshar Patel took 1 wicket each.
Batting next, Delhi won by 150 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 19 overs. David Warner top-scored with 42 and Rovman Powell with 33. Delhi spinner Kuldeep Yadav was given the man of the match award.
Speaking after the match, Kuldeep Yadav was asked if he would try to buy the purple cap ahead of Rajasthan Royals spinner Chahal. Kuldeep Yadav replied, "There has never been competition with him (Chahal). He's like my big brother and has always backed me. He kept motivating me when I was injured and I hope he wins the Purple Cap.”
Kuldeep Yadav is second in the current IPL with 17 wickets, taking 4 wickets in yesterday's match. Similarly, Rajasthan spinner Chahal tops the list with 18 wickets.
