Video: Woman Runs On Field, Stops SAvsENG Match To Spread Awareness
Home > News Shots > Sports newsDuring the third and final T20I between South Africa and England in Centurion on February 16, the match faced an interruption which has currently become the talk of the town.
As the match took grounds, the crowd and cricketers saw an interruption when a woman dressed as popular superhero ‘Wonder Woman’ invaded the pitch to spread awareness about air quality and air pollution.
This incident took place when England made a 223-run chase, which was right after the dismissal of opening batsman Jason Roy in the second over.
According to news agency AFP reports, the woman was a climate change activist from an organistaion called Greenpeace Africa. She ran into the middle of the pitch on the field wearing a Wonder Woman costume.
In a viral video; the woman after invading the field, ran up to South Africa captain Quinton de Kock and gave him a white pollution mask which he accepted with a smiling face. While she was chatting and explaining to Quinton de Kock team fast bowler Dale Steyn also joined in and gave the protester a high-five for the social cause.
Meanwhile, the organisation- Greenpeace Africa, who work to create awareness about climate change; took to social media and posted the video on their official Facebook page.
Talking about the game, England grabbed the trophy after winning it by 5 wickets. Watch the video below:
