The 26-year-old off-spinning all-rounder, weighing 140 kilograms, has become the heaviest person to play Test cricket after former Australia captain Warwick Armstrong who made his debut in 1902 and played until 1921. Armstrong captained Australia for 10 Test matches including the Ashes series. Out 0f 10, his side won 8 matches leaving the rest two draw.

Though Cornwell hasn’t got a chance to show how good a captain he is, his 260 wickets from 55 first-class matches for the Leeward Islands at an average of 23.90 makes him stand apart.

In a recent unofficial match against India A, Cornwell picked up 4 wickets and scored two half-centuries. Also, during a tour game against India in 2016, he dismissed star players Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane.

For all the good reasons, West Indies can put all their hopes on Cornwell for the International side as well.
