Kohli bagged the record during India’s second ODI against West Indies as he scored 19 runs to go past Pakistan legend Javed Miandad.
According to Hindustan Times report, Miandad took 64 innings to score 1930 runs against Windies while Kohli was able to claim the record in just 34 innings. This was Kohli's 34th ODI against the West Indies while Miandad had accumulated his runs from 64 matches.
Kohli has so far hit seven hundreds against the West Indies and has an average of over 71 in ODIs against the Caribbeans.
In yesterday's match, India won the toss and opted to bat first. While, the first match of the series was cancelled due to rain in Guyana.
