Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe Chennai boys are playing some quirky yet interesting cricket on the field in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2019 edition. Earlier, Ravichandran Ashwin surprised the batsmen and the crowd with strange bowling action which went viral among the cricket fans, Now yet another Chennai’s star cricketer Murali Vijay has grabbed the attention while playing for Ruby Trichy Warriors.
The cheerful Vijay was seen shaking his body to the popular Tamil song “Thani Karuthiruchu” sung by Silambarasan TR (STR) while it was played through the speakers at the NPR College grounds in Natham. Murali Vijay’s upbeat made him play different shots and at one point he turned into a left-handed batsman to play R Ashwin’s delivery.
Vijay was batting at 74 when he switched his usual right-handed batting left-handed against the Dindigul Dragon’s skipper R Ashwin. Though the delivery was a no-ball, Vijay only managed to hit the ball to a fielder on the offside. Following the no-ball, Vijay had a free hit which he smashed over the long-on boundary while batting right-handed.
Murali Vijay has been on a great form in the ongoing TNPL edition playing for Ruby Trichy Warriors. He scored his third successive fifty against Dindigul Dragons. However, Vijay’s 99 runs off 62 balls failed to save the Trichy team that was defending the target of 178.
