During the second T20 International of the three-match series in Thiruvananthapuram on December 8, Kesrick Williams was brutal on the field. He took Virat's wicket for 19 in the 14th over.

What surprised the audience was when he did not do his "notebook celebration", instead put his index finger on his lips and signaled to 'Keep Shut'. That moment was captured on camera and the International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a picture of Williams' celebration.

Minutes later the photo went viral and many fans were seen cautioning Kesrick Williams to not make fun of Kohli. During the match, Williams took two wickets while India scored to 170/7 after opting to bowl first.

In the first T20I, which India won by six wickets, Kohli imitated Williams's "notebook" celebration after hitting him for a six. The story of the 'notebook celebration' dates back to 2017, when India was playing against Windies in Jamaica. It was then that, Kesrick Williams gave a send-off to Virat Kohli with a ‘notebook-ticking' celebration and the whole crowd cheered for him.
