India lost the Semifinals in ICC World Cup 2019 to runners-up New Zealand, and returned home. Ravi Shastri' tenure is coming to an end after the West Indies tour. However, he is open to reapply for the same position.
Reportedly, Kohli expressed his difficulty with the former coach Anil Kumble. Now, an ad-hoc committee led by Kapil Dev are set to pick the next national coach. However, final decision on panel formation will be taken after Supreme Court hearing.
Indian Express reports say that a BCCI offical told Kohli will have no say in the coach selection as Kapil Dev will not listen to him. He said, "In the new selection process, he will have absolutely no say with regards to who becomes the coach." Meanwhile, Kapil Dev had recently told the media that he sees positive changes in Kohli as a captain and had lauded him.
BCCI on Tuesday invited applications for various positions including head coach of the team. The deadline for applications closes on July 30.
