Rohit Sharma sends out strong message: "Talk about me but not my family"
Home > News Shots > Sports newsRohit Sharma who is currently on a break from international cricket sent out a strong message to those writing about the family members of cricketers on Monday. He was speaking about the stories that surfaced after the ICC World Cup claiming senior players' families stayed beyond the designated number of days.
“Our families are there to support us, make us feel happy. When all these things were being written about, few of my friends came and told me and believe me or not, I was just laughing," Rohit told during an PTI interview.
“But then it went on and on and they dragged my family and that was not on. You talk about me but don’t drag my family as they genuinely don’t care about anything else. I think even Virat must have felt the same way as families are an important aspect of our lives,” he added.
On a personal front 2019 was a standout year for Rohit Sharma as he ended up breaking several long-standing records. His 5 centuries in the ICC World Cup is the most by any batsman in a single tournament and he was the highest run getter as an opener across all formats.
Rohit also broke the conventional opinion on his Test performances when he dominated proceedings against South Africa and Bangladesh at home.
