Video: Steve Smith Saves 6 With Incredible Fielding; Crowd & Commentators Stunned!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsFormer Australian skipper Steve Smith, is one of the best batsmen in the world right now. Despite having amazing batting skills, he recently took to headlines after being lauded for his ‘Superman’ effort during the second T20I against Australia in Port Elizabeth.
During the match in the 6th over, South African skipper Quinton de Kock tried a big hit on a short ball from Adam Zampa. In that strong effort, the ball seemed to be flying over the boundary ropes to mark it as a six. But, Australia’s Steve Smith ran and flung himself in the air like a 'Superman'.
Surprisingly, he caught the ball mid-air and threw it back inside the boundary. Sadly, Quinton de Kock's big hit ended up being a single. Talking about the match, the Proteas leveled the three-match series.
David Warner, who scored 67 not out, could not carry his team over the line as Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada were on target under pressure in the closing overs.
