"I probably spent four days in tears": Steve Smith's confession on ball-tampering scandal

While attending an event at a boy's school in Sydney, former Australian cricket captain Steve Smith admitted to having cried for four days after the ball-tampering scandal. Smith was sent home to Australia after getting involved in tampering a ball during the Third Test against South Africa in March.

Steve Smith along with vice-captain David Warner was banned from taking part in domestic and international cricket for a year. Opening batsman, Cameron Bancroft was banned for nine months. The punishment also included Smith to take part in community service.

As part of the service, Smith visited a boy's school in Sydney and addressed the students. He confessed that after the scandal he was in tears for nearly four days. He reportedly said, "I was really struggling mentally. It certainly was the toughest thing that I've had to do." Smith assured the students that it is fine as a man to cry and show emotions.
