Watch - Warner and Smith return for Australia first time after ban!!! Big Impact already !!!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsDavid Warner and Steve Smith were involved in a huge controversy almost a year back which had them banned from international cricket for 12 months.
Although they played a few domestic leagues and club matches during this time, their first big stage game came in the IPL where both of them were involved.
David Warner didn't look like someone who had missed a year of cricket as he looked in great touch as he scored 692 runs in just 12 matches and is leading the run chart after the group stages. Steve Smith, on the other hand, didn't have the same kind of comeback as he struggled early on with his elbow injury. He progressed well as the tournament went along and started to get back in form towards the end.
Now, they have joined Australia for the Worldcup preparation and in the first warm-up match against NewZealand, both Warner and Smith were involved in the playing XI.
Chasing 216, Warner came in at no 3. He had a nervous start but once he found his grove, he started scoring freely as he ended up with a very well made 39 from 43 balls.
