After Suspension of 'South African Cricket' by Govt, will Players be Participating in IPL2020? - Report
Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe SASCOC, government agency in South Africa suspended cricket and took over the daily operations of the board. The ICC regulatory board completely prohibits any form of government intervention in cricket operations. Hence the risk of players getting banned from playing international cricket increased.
With IPL 2020 marked for this month, questions have been clouding over if or not players such as Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, Dale Steyn, Imran Tahir, Chris Morris and David Miller are all playing for major franchises like the Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals.
Reports are now suggesting that they are free to participate in IPL 2020. Cricket South Africa announced the same on their official Twitter account where it clearly stated that the board does not agree with the decision of SASCOC.
