After Rishabh Pant, Another Cricketer Gets Injured; BCCI Reveals substitute!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsDays after Rishabh Pant got ruled out from the ODI match with Australia due to an injury, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan was ruled out of the remainder of the second one-day international against Australia at the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium.
Dhawan, got hit on the rib cage from Australian pacer Pat Cummins bouncer today. During the match, Indian openers Dhawan and Rohit Sharma got off to a good start. They made 52 runs in nine overs.
But in the 10th over, Dhawan got hit near the elbow, then deflected onto the rib-cage. After which the match halted and Dhawan was carried. The score was 96 off 90 balls with the help of 13 fours and one six.
Meanwhile, BCCI took to social media and delivered the update saying, “Shikhar Dhawan got hit on the rib-cage on his right side. He will not be taking the field today. Yuzvendra Chahal is in as his substitute."
However, Dhawan could not come out during the second innings and was replaced by Chahal. Check the tweet below:
