Shikhar Dhawan Reveals Why He Did Not Opt For LBW Call During DCvsSRH Clash; Tweet Goes Viral!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsIn Sunday's match, Delhi Capitals (DC) registered a thrilling win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier 2 to lock horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2020 finals, which is all set to take place on November 10.
During the match between DC and SRH, Shikhar Dhawan showcased his thunderous knock of 78 runs.
With this majestic score, he crossed 600 runs mark in IPL 2020 and also got his place next to Orange Cap holder KL Rahul. Surprisingly, it was Dhawan's fourth fifty in the tournament.
Meanwhile, during the match Dhawan could have easily got more runs as the on field umpire wrongly gave him LBW out in the 19th over. The incident happened when SRH pacer Sandeep Sharma bowled a high full toss to Dhawan, who tried to reverse paddle, but he missed the ball and it struck his pads.
Even though Delhi had a review to check on, as it was the 2nd last over of the innings, Dhawan decided not to review and immediately walked off from the field. When the replays were shown the ball’s impact was outside off stumps and hence it was a wrong decision.
Post the match after the Capitals put up a 189/3 in 20 overs on board, former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter and joked that Dhawan might have forgotten about taking a review.
“Great come back by bowlers in the last 2 overs! Not even A single boundary scored hats off Natarajan and @sandeep25a pressure game execution to the point! @SDhawan25 man in form but naam to jatt ji hai Zany face how bout Drs bro? as usual must have forgotten Face with tears of joy game on #DCvSRH,” Yuvraj tweeted.
Few hours later Dhawan, replied to Yuvraj’s tweet, saying that he thought it was plumb and only realised his mistake after he had reached the boundary.
“Hahahah pajhi mainu lag gya plumb hai tah muuh chuk chal paya jadh boundary tey pahuncha tadh pata lag gya,” Dhawan wrote in Punjabi.
Talking about the match, Kagiso Rabada took four wickets while Marcus Stoinis grabbed three wickets as DC fought tooth and nail to progress to the finals of the IPL. This is the first time that Delhi has come this far.
