'Good Records, But Not Selected for Team India!' IPL Player Questions BCCI's Selection Policy!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsFormer Kolkata Knight Riders player Sheldon Jackson, through a series of tweets, has questioned the policy followed by the national selectors in choosing players for India A team. The Saurashtra wicket-keeper batsman who averages close to 50 in first-class cricket accused the committee of being biased towards small-states and demanded more transparency in selection.
“Saurashtra has played the Ranji Trophy final this year, and surprisingly still no player, even after performing at all platforms, get picked for the A series. So is the importance of playing the Ranji Trophy finals zero (sic.),” his tweet read.
“Or is that small state sides aren’t taken seriously coz in the last 5 years @saucricket has played 3 finals under sitanshu kotaks coaching, (we have some very good performers since recent years with the bat and ball) but did not get the deserved credit (sic.),” he further wrote.
He further stated that though he was not supposed to question, he believes that players should be told why they were not selected and where they lack, else their careers would end wondering why selectors should be transparent.
