Shamsi Explains Reason Behind 'Shoe Celebration' after Dismissing Shikar Dhawan!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsQuinton de Kock led South Africa levelled the three-match T20I series against India at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday. India's top and order middle order crumbled in a twinkling, giving away the momentum to the opposition. On the other hand, de Kock scored an unbeaten 79 to lead his team towards victory.
While the game was as much thrilling as it could get, what grabbed everyone's attention was South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi's peculiar 'shoe celebration' after he dismissed Shikar Dhawan in the eighth over. The 29-year-old South Africa bowler took off his shoe and acted like making a phone call with it.
The images and videos of the same went viral on social media.
However, on Tuesday, Shamsi took to Twitter to say he did not mean to disrespect Dhawan by his act. "No disrepect... only love, enjoyment and entertainment! Asked the big man why he didnt give me a warning atleast before smoking me out of the park 1st two balls lol [sic]" his tweet read.
The two teams will next play a three-match Test series starting October 2 at Visakhapatnam.
