During the ongoing ICC U19 in Benoni, New Zealand players- Jesse Tashkoff and Joseph Field won hearts and respect for their generous act of helping injured West Indies batsman Kirk McKenzie.
McKenzie, who was previously retired hurt returned to the match and was dismissed for 99. He was then taken off the field by the opposition. During the West Indies' innings, McKenzie suffered cramps and was retired hurt at the end of the 43rd over. After coming back to bat in the 48th over, he was dismissed on the very next delivery by Kristian Clarke.
New Zealand chased down the 239-run target in the last over against West Indies. As West Indies were bowled out for 238, McKenzie struggled to walk off the field. Looking at him struggling, two New Zealand players came running to him and carried him off the field.
After sharing the video, Rohit Sharma captioned it saying, "So good to see this #SpiritOfCricket at its best." Kirk McKenzie was a top-scorer for the West Indies with 99 off 104 deliveries. Watch the video below:
