Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe Mumbai Indians (MI) once again showed why they are one of the top most teams to win a record fourth IPL title after they crushed Delhi Capitals (DC) by 57 runs to seal their place for the final.
During the match against DC, most of the Mumbai bowlers had a good day at the field, but not for leg-spinner Rahul Chahar – who conceded 35 runs in 2 overs.
But to make the day special for him, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma had a brilliant gesture for spinner Rahul Chahar.
Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians scored up to 200 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs despite their captain Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Kieron Pollard failing to open. It was none other than Ishan Kishan, who top-scored for the team; he was unbeaten 55 while Suryakumar Yadav scored 51.
Even Hardik Pandya gave a finishing touch by slamming an unbeaten 37 off just 14 balls with the help of five sixes. While, Delhi Capitals finished on 143 for 8.
Coming back to Rohit Sharma’s gesture for Rahul Chahar; after the game, Rohit Sharma came up with a heartwarming gesture for Rahul Chahar. The spinner, who had a poor performance with the ball conceded 35 runs in just two overs without taking a wicket.
But to make him feel better, Rohit Sharma asked him to lead the team for the fist pumps towards the dressing room.
Pointing over Chahar's performance in IPL 2020, he has been a key bowler for MI and it was one of those rare matches where he was taken to the cleaners.
So far, the spinner has claimed 15 wickets in as many matches for Mumbai in UAE so far. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians will now take on the winner of the second qualifier which will be played between Delhi Capitals and the winner of the Eliminator between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) today.
