Home > Sports newsIndian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has added yet another feather to his already illustrious cap. Pant has headed past former Indian skipper MS Dhoni to take most dismissals in an India versus Australia Test series.
The youngster has edged past Dhoni, Syed Kirmani and Wriddhiman Saha to seal the record. Pant achieved the milestone in the second Test match against Australia at the brand new Optus Stadium in Perth.
On completing the dismissal of Shaun Marsh in Australia's second innings off Mohammed Shami, Pant grabbed his 15th catch in the series. With the dismissal, he overhauled the previous record of 14.
The record comes in the same week in which Pant managed to equal England's Jack Russell, and former South African cricketer AB de Villiers record of 11 catches. Overhauling Saha's mark en route the milestone, Pant also became the first wicketkeeper to achieve the feat against Australia, on their home soil, in Test cricket.
Day 3 of the second Test between India and Australia is curently underway with the Aussies playing their second innings. India lead the four-match Test series 1-0.
