Ricky Ponting's Test Team of the Decade has Only One Indian Player!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsAs 2019 comes to close, several cricketers are announcing their choice of best players across all the formats. Adding on to the list, former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has picked his Test team of the decade.
“Everyone's picking teams of the decade so I thought I'd join in the fun,” Ponting wrote on Twitter.
Ponting's team has Alastair Cook and David Warner as openers followed by Kane Williamson and Steve Smith. Virat Kohli, who has record-breaking runs than anyone else in this decade, will enter at number 5. He will also captain the side.
Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara will don the gloves as wicket-keeper batsman. The squad has Ben Stokes as all-rounder. Dale Steyn, Stuart Broad and James Anderson will be seam bowlers while Nathan Lyon will play the solitary spinner.
Surprisingly, despite exhibiting phenomenal bowling attack in Test cricket in the last couple of years, no Indian bowlers managed to find a spot in the squad.
