Ravindra Jadeja Shares Cryptic Post After Sanjay Manjrekar’s Comment on Cricketers Goes Viral
Home > News Shots > Sports newsDays after former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar commented on Ravindra Jadeja in India’s limited-overs squad, the all-rounder took to Twitter and shared a cryptic message.
Manjrekar’s comments came a day after India’s loss to Australia in the first ODI last week. While commenting about the selection process, the commentator said that he does not like players who make it to the playing eleven without being a specialist in either batting or bowling.
Though he clarified that he doesn’t have issues with Jadeja, he was clear in saying that ‘players of his kind’ don’t deserve a place in the eleven.
“My selection and thoughts are based on a principle that I have learnt over the years: if you have specialists who can walk-in based on one discipline, you fill your team with those players,” Manjrekar was quoted saying to The Hindu.
“I do not have a problem with Jadeja; I have a problem with his kind of cricketers in white-ball cricket. Even Hardik Pandya will not be in my team. They add illusionary value to the team. Of course, I have always rated Jadeja highly in the Test format,” he added.
Days after his comments made headlines, Jadeja uploaded a picture with a cryptic post saying, “Stay calm."
Meanwhile, in the ongoing series Team India have already given the home team an unassailable 2-0 lead. The last ODI is currently being played at the Manuka Oval in Canberra while fans are hoping for India's win.
