The most awaited reserve day semi-final match between India and New Zealand started at 3 PM today after it was called off by rain yesterday during the 47th over. New Zealand finished their innings posting a total of 239 with the loss of 8 wickets at the end of 50 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja who is known for his suave and quirky outlook impressed the twitterities with his top-notch throw to dismiss Ross Taylor while he was batting at 74 runs. Soon after the dismissal the hashtag “bits and pieces” started trending on social media.

Interestingly the hashtag “bits and pieces” topped the Chennai trends while the hashtag “SirJadeja” grabbed the top spot in the India trends. Many people including noted celebrities shared how the “bits and pieces” worked perfectly fine by relating it to the broken toppled bails when Jadeja threw the ball at the stumps.

The phrase “bits and pieces” became the talk of the cricket enthusiasts after the infamous Sanjay Manjerakkar referred him as “bits and pieces cricketer” during the course of one of his commentary sessions.

Later, Michael Vaughan, the former English cricketer appreciated Jadeja including a sarcastic angle to Manjerakar’s comment by saying“Bloody hell Bits & Piece can Spin it” when Jadeja took the wicket of New Zealand opener Henry Nicholas.
