Rajasthan Royals Trolls Ravichandran Ashwin; He Hits Back!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsIndia off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin engaged in a banter with Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) on the New Year’s Eve.
It all started when a fan shared a special ball box, with 'Mankad' written on all of them. Rajasthan Royals who were at the receiving end of Ashwin's infamous dismissal tweeted, "No points for guessing who is adding this to their cart for #IPL2020."
In response, Ashwin said "Might well be a good collection for the non strikers who meander along. Good banter nevertheless. Wish you all a happy 2020."
In the last edition of IPL, Ashwin who was captaining Kings XI Punjab mankaded Rajasthan Royals' Jos Buttler after he left the non-strikers end even before the ball was bowled.
Earlier, during one of his interactive sessions on Twitter, a fan asked Ashwin, "Who are the potential batsmen you can Mankad this IPL?" to which he said "Anyone that goes out of the crease".
Under the captaincy of Ashwin, KXIP exhibited a good show in the first half of the past two seasons before losing momentum in the second half. The franchise finished 7th in 2018 and 6th in 2019.
