Fans who are patiently waiting to watch, India vs New Zealand in Manchester's Old Trafford stadium on July 9 for the World Cup 2019 semi-final are likely to be disheartened as there are chances of rain once again playing the spoilsport in the crunch knockout encounter.

As per ZeeNews report, according to the British Met department, “Most areas on Sunday will be dry with spells of sunshine, the longest of these likely towards the coast. Cloud may bubble up inland to produce a few showers over the hills. Maximum temperature 20 °C.” However, Monday could experience a chilly start with “cloudier skies and some showery rain developing at times” on Tuesday.

The forecast also added that there’s a 50 percent chance of rain at around 10 am local time on Tuesday (July 9) in Manchester. And with the game scheduled to start at 10.30 am, there’s an actual possibility of a late start, the news report further added.

The MET department has stated that the match might start later than the scheduled time as the chances of rain during that time is 50 percent. The skies are most likely to make away for sun post 1 pm local time. 

India and New Zealand will face each other for the first time during ICC World Cup 2019 as their last encounter in Nottingham was called off due to rains.

Media reports further state that, ICC has kept a reserved day for the knockout matches, so if the India-NZ match gets washed out on Tuesday, the teams can resume the match on Wednesday.
