Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 13 runs in the second qualifier of the IPL on Friday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad openers got off to a steady start as they scored 45 runs without losing any wicket in the powerplay. KKR spinner Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Shikar Dhawan - 34 (24) and the SRH captain Kane Williamson - 3 (3) in the same over (8). SRH's Rashid Khan - 34 (10) played an important cameo by the end to take his team to 174/7 from their 20 overs.

Chasing 175 to win, KKR openers gave a brilliant start scoring 67/1 from the power play of 6 overs. Things took a turn when SRH's Rashid Khan came into the attack. Wickets started to tumble as Rashid picked up three crucial wickets in the middle overs. Chris Lynn top-scored for KKR by scoring 48 off just 31 balls at the top. Young Shubman Gill - 30 (20) battled hard to take his team over the line but failed at the end as he had no support at the other end. KKR ended up scoring 161/9 from their 20 overs falling short by 13 runs. By winning the second qualifier, SRH advanced to the final and will play CSK on Sunday.
