‘Is this really Sanjay Manjrekar?’, Fans Shocked after his comment on "Virat Kohli"
Home > News Shots > Sports newsOn July 29 (Yesterday), Virat Kohli dismissed the speculations regarding the rift between him and Rohit Sharma while the head coach Ravi Shastri also agreed to his point. As per the reports, India will be leaving to West Indies today and the Virat Kohli led Indian team will be playing 3 ODIS, 2 Tests and 3 T20s. Recently, Virat Kohli and others posted a photo before leaving for West Indies.
On the other side, Sanjay Manjrekar who raised to fame with his commentary including his comment on Ravindra Jadeja has put up a tweet backing Indian team Selectors and Virat Kolhi as a captain. His tweet has clearly taken a few fans by shock and surprise as well. Of late, former Indian Captain, Commentator and legendary Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar criticised Indian team selectors and he had reportedly expressed his unhappiness over Virat Kohli’s captaincy. He questioned Virat Kohli’s re-appointment as captain after the World Cup loss.
Sanjay Manjrekar responded to Sunil Gavaskar’s questions and allegations on Indian Team selectors & Virat Kohli with his ‘respectful disagreement’. He tweeted, “Respectfully disagree with Gavaskar Sir with his views on Indian selectors & Virat being retained as capt. No, Ind did not put in a ‘much below par WC performance’, they won 7 lost two. Last one very narrowly. And integrity a far more important quality as selector than stature.” (sic)

Fans were quite impressed with his stand, particularly concerning Virat Kohli as a captain. One of the fans replied saying, “Sanjay Manjrekar I'm in shock, is this really you?” (sic). While most of the fans supported Sanjay’s stand in the comments, there were also others who stood by Gavaskar’s statement.
