Pomersbach was set to be produced in the court of Perth’s magistrate on Wednesday in connection to separate incidents in Innaloo on the suburb of Perth last month according to a report in the West Australian. An arrest warrant was issued against him when he failed to turn up by 10.30 am.

Pomersbach is not new to controversy. He was once bought in the IPL for $300,000 and played in four seasons in the tournament between 2008 and 2013. He got to play 17 games in which he scored 302 runs at a strike-rate of 122-plus with one fifty.

However, in 2012, his IPL career was in doldrums after Pomersbach, then playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, was detained by the Delhi Police on charges of assaulting an American woman and her fiancé following a game against the then Delhi Daredevils. Pomersbach was produced in a court in Delhi where he was granted interim bail. He was also suspended for the rest of the tournament.

His career was subsequently plagued by alcohol and drug-related issues. Of late, it has been reported that he has been living in his car. Pomersbach was accused of stealing a bicycle from outside a shopping centre in Innaloo on New Year’s Day. A few weeks later, Pomersbach, who happens to be a father of a four-year-old girl, was accused of stealing 10 packs of pre-mixed spirits from a liquor shop, a report said. Pomersbach had quit cricket in 2014 with what was once a promising career coming to an untimely end.
