A month after being bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the auctions 2019; Pravin Tambe will not be participating in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). The news brought a big shock to all cricket fans as veteran leg-spinner Pravin Tambe won't be able to participate in the 2020 edition of the IPL which is to begin on March 29.

After Playing For All IPL Editions, Cricketer Has Been Barred From Playing IPL 2020

The news got confirmed after a BCCI functionary told IANS, that Tambe can't play in the IPL since he has played in the T10 League. "BCCI rules strictly say that an Indian player has to be exclusively playing in the IPL or he has to stay away from the cash-rich league and participate in other leagues across the globe. To have sent in his name for the T10 draft and now to also be a part of the IPL is clearly against the BCCI protocol. So, he can't play," the BCCI functionary told the news agency.

Recently at the IPL auction, Tambe was roped in by KKR with a base price of Rs 20 lakh. He made his IPL debut in 2013 and till date he has played 33 matches and picked up 28 wickets.
