Gavaskar Hits Back at Kohli For Praising Sourav Ganguly

After the 2-0 series win, skipper Virat Kohli praised the new BCCI president who is fondly called as Dada, Sourav Ganguly. But, Kohli's statements did not go well with Sunil Gavaskar who had hit back with his reply in the post-match show.

"The idea is to establish yourself in the middle and we have learnt to stand up and give it back. It all started with Dada's team and we are just carrying it forward," Kohli was quoted as saying by NDTV after the match. Virat stated that it was Sourav Ganguly who built the Indian cricket Team with victories. In his reply, Gavaskar referred "Kohli wasn't born" when India won matches in the '70s and '80s.

"This is a fantastic win but I would like to make a point. The Indian captain said that this thing started in 2000 with Dada's (Ganguly's) team. I know Dada is the BCCI President, so maybe Kohli wanted to say nice things about him. But India was also winning in the '70s and '80s. He wasn't born then," Gavaskar was quoted as saying by NDTV in the post-match show.

Further, Gavaskar told that most of the people think cricket started only in the 2000's but India had won overseas matches in the '70s and 1986 also.
