KL Rahul Donates His Man of The Match Cash Award to Chennai, Fans Happy!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsTeam India cricketer KL Rahul has been doing extremely well in his performance on the field. Ever since the ODI series against Australia began, Rahul has been grabbing headlines with every match that he plays and also showed us an example of just how versatile he is.
After winning hearts on the field, KL Rahul is winning fans off the field with a heart warming gesture. He recently donated Rs. 2 lakhs to animal rights activist Shravan Krishnan for animal welfare.
According to Crictracker reports, Rahul had promised Krishnan by helping him with cash as soon as he received his next man of the match award. After Rahul won the award and received a prize of Rs. 1 lakh in the second ODI against Australia he remembered his promise.
While speaking to The News Minute Shravan said, "I knew he would send the money right after he won. But what surprised me was that he had sent double the amount that he won. He transferred a total of Rs. 2 lakh to the Besant Memorial Animal Dispensary (BMAD)."
“Rahul and I have always been in touch and when I put photos of injured animals on Instagram he would tell me that it was difficult to even look at them. He always said that he can’t be hands on and help us at the centre but that we should contact him for any financial assistance,” Shravan added.
