VIDEO: England Cricket Star 'Refuses' to 'Mankad'; Team Loses the Match
Home > News Shots > Sports newsEngland women's cricket star Katherine Brunt refused to carry out Mankading for South Africa batswoman Sune Luus in the ongoing ICC Women's World T20 in Australia.
The game was won by South African women's team by 6 six wickets, thus marking a winning start to the tournament.
However, if Katherine had carried out the 'Mankading' opportunity, the game might have turned in favor of England. Though 'Mankading' is a part of ICC rules, several cricketers have voiced against it citing the 'unfairness' of the action.
While Katherine's sportsmanship was widely appreciated by the people, the video of the 20th over during which the incident happened is doing rounds on the internet.
"With the game on the line, Katherine Brunt could have dismissed Sune Luus at the non-striker's end, but opted not to. Moments later Mignon du Preez blasted a game-defining six. What do you think?," (sic) tweeted ICC with the video.
