"MS Dhoni Is The Greatest Player India Has Ever Produced," Says Cricketing Legend
Home > Sports newsMahendra Singh Dhoni is arguably one of the most successful captains Indian cricket has ever seen. The Ranchi man is only the second after the legendary Kapil Dev to have lifted the ICC World Cup as a captain and the only skipper in the world to have won all major ICC trophies.
From his humble beginnings as a railway ticket collector to the World Cup winning skipper, Dhoni has scripted his own legacy.
He has always been highly rated as a captain and a wicket-keeper batsman among the experts and former greats but the 37-year-old has now received the ultimate compliment from 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev.
"MS Dhoni is the greatest player India has ever produced. He played 90 Tests and then said let's give a chance to the youngsters. Dhoni did that and hats off to him for putting his country before himself," Kapil was quoted as saying by India Today.
Dhoni had announced retirement from Test cricket in 2014 before stepping down as the captain of the ODI and T20I sides in January 2017. He will next be seen in the upcoming ODI series against Australia, early next year.
