Jasprit Bumrah, the number 1 one day bowler in the world has grown leaps and bounds in the space of 3 - 4 years. From making his debut in 2016, he has become the number 1 bowler strike bowler for India across all formats.

He has a very different approach to bowling where he just has a small run up, doesn't really rush to the crease, to follow with an unorthodox action. First, when he came into the scene through IPL in 2013 for the Mumbai Indians, not many people gave him a chance after looking at his action.

He had not really set the stage on fire with his bowling in IPL until 2016 but was always a consistent performer at the domestic level. Since 2016, getting more consistent opportunities meant that he really became an unavoidable force, both in the IPL and the International stage.
Bumrah has really branded himself to be the best death overs bowlers, bowling the perfect yorkers. His experience in the Mumbai Indians camp with Malinga has also helped him in this process.

Once again when everyone branded him as a limited overs specialist, he managed to break through the test side in 2018 against SouthAfrica and within a year of test cricket, he has already become India's best bowler, picking up 49 wickets in just 10 matches.

Jusprit Bumrah has credited his success to Rohit Sharma, his captain in the IPL, who has seen him come from early stages saying that "He used to back me with a lot of space then and he does it now. He’ll come, ask me what I see or believe in, set the field accordingly and then keeps backing me up all the time. Some days it works, some days it doesn’t but it’s always so reassuring".

Jasprit Bumrah is now one of the most valuable member of the Indian team going into the world cup and he will be looking to use this year's IPL to stay match fit and add more experience bowling in the pressure situations.
He has already come up with a match-winning performance for the Mumbai Indians against the Royal Challengers Bangalore where he picked up 3/20 in 4 overs, which included him bowling in the 17th and 19th overs where he just conceded 1 and 4 runs respectively, and this spell won them the game.

Hence, it is safe to say that, what Virat Kohli is for India's batting, is Jasprit Bumrah for India's bowling.
