IPL 2020: CSK Can Still Qualify For The Playoffs Starting With MI; Check How!
Home > News Shots > Sports newsThe Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have qualified for the playoffs in every single season they have been part of but sadly IPL 2020 does not seem lucky for them.
Currently, CSK are in last position on the points table with a poor net run rate (NRR). So far, they have played ten matches out of which they have won only three and lost seven.
As fans feel that Chennai's Dream11 IPL 2020 campaign seems to be over, we have reasons and scenarios where they can come up to the playoff.
MS Dhoni's team was in a similar position in 2010 when they went on to turn the tables and won the coveted title. Even, Hyderabad had made it to the playoffs last year despite having just seven wins and 14 points to their name.
So, the Super Kings can do the same this year by winning the remaining four matches and taking their points tally in the Dream11 IPL 2020 points table to 14.
Not just that, CSK will also need to hope that the top three teams currently (Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals) continue with their winning ways.
So, the results of the matches between the top three teams will not really matter to the Super Kings. With this CSK can get to the fourth spot if the top three teams keep winning.
By the end, Super Kings would have 14 points alongside Capitals, Mumbai and Royal Challengers while Net Run Rate would not come into play.
Looking into another situation where CSK could be tied with multiple teams on 14 and go through on net run rate, is that Super Kings need to ensure they win a couple of matches by big margins to move to a positive net run rate as teams like SRH are well placed with a positive run rate.
