BIG NEWS !!! IPL finals not in Chennai anymore???
Home > News Shots > Sports newsIt is now confirmed that Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, which is the home of the 2018 runner up team,Sunrisers Hyderabad, will host the finals of the IPL this year on May 12.
The BCCI had given time for the authorities to come up with a solution to fix the problem of the three closed stands (I, J, K) which approximately can seat 12000 people. Unfortunately, they have not been able to solve this issue and hence the defending champions will not be able to host the finals this season.
However, Chennai will be hosting Qualifier 1 and Vishakapatnam will host both Eliminator and Qualifier 2. It is unfortunate that Chennai doesn't get to host the finals which is the home of the defending champions. Hopefully, this issue is solved quickly and will not face such problems in the future.
