Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to field first in the all-important final.

 

 

Sent in to bat, Sunrisers Hyderabad started their innings slowly, scoring 42 runs on the power-play with the loss of one wicket. SRH captain Kane Williamson and opener Shikar Dhawan - 26 (25) stitched an important partnership of 51 runs. Karn Sharma, who was brought in to the team for the final picked up the important wicket of Williamson - 47 (36) in the 13th over. Yusuf Pathan - 45*(25) and Shakib Al Haasan - 23 (15) also scored some valuable runs through the middle overs. Carlos Brathwait's cameo of 21 runs from 11 balls powered SRH to a total of 178/6 from their 20 overs. CSK bowlers Karn Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, and Lungi Ngidi picked one wicket each.

 

 

CSK need 179 runs from 120 balls to win the final.
