Chennai Super Kings defeated Royals Challenges Bangalore by 6 wickets on Saturday to register their seventh victory of the season.

 

 

After winning the toss, CSK captain MS Dhoni chose to field first. RCB was struck in the second over itself as they lost their opening batsman Brendon McCullum - 5 (3). RCB lost their captain Virat Kohli - 8 (11) and key batsman Ab De Villiers - 1 (4) in quick succession. RCB opener Pathiv Patel got the majority of the runs as he scored 53 runs off 41 balls. RCB's Tim Southee scored a useful 36 runs off 26 balls in the end to take RCB to 127 runs.

 

 

CSK all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja picked up three wickets as spinner Harbhajan Singh picked up two wickets.

 

 

Chasing the small target, CSK's innings proceeded smoothly with the help of an important 44 run partnership between Ambati Rayudu - 32 (25) and Suresh Raina - 25 (21). CSK reached the target with 12 balls to spare as MS Dhoni - 31* (23) and Dwayne Bravo - 14* (17) finished the innings.
