IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings has signed English bowler David Willey as a replacement for its injured players for the eleventh edition of the league.
The 28-year-old left-arm seamer is a good option to operate at the death overs and is also handy with the bat. Willey recently smashed a 36-ball 79 which included a 34-run over off Nathan Lyon.
CSK was hit by injuries as New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner was ruled out of the league even before the start of the tournament. Now, all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has also been ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury. Jadhav played a vital role in CSK’s 1 wicket victory over the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener last Saturday.
CSK will face Kolkata Knight Riders led by Dinesh Karthik on Tuesday at Chennai.
